The Community College system is in need of reform after decades of mismanagement by the same group of approved politicians.
We have had similar leadership for decades and during that time the system has been unable to meet the needs of the students or the community. With one of the largest community college system budgets in the state, the San Diego Community College District has been unable to graduate or transfer half of its students. It has allowed bureaucratic costs & waste to explode, teacher salaries to drop and students to fall through the cracks. The District has ignored its purpose, and it is time for fresh leadership from outside the bureaucracy and unions which have dominated it. I hope to bring about that change and to refocus this board on what its real responsibilities are.
I hope to earn your support – and your vote – come November. Let’s make great things happen for the San Diego Community College system, and in turn, for those students who are counting on it.
